Thought Bubbles

Monday
Court hearing today. Guess what? I’m staying with the Hopes!!! For the ‘indefinite future’! Everyone was hugging when it was announced – I feel safe for the first time in years. At last, my Christmas is going to be with a real family.
Wednesday
Jermaine asked me about Nicky today. I told him she’s got the flu (she’s actually just skiving off college). He said to ask her if he could see her. I was very cool with him, I think he’s a scut, the way he’s behaved.
Me and Felix surprised Edward today by turning up at his school concert! We totally didn’t fit in with all the posh parents, but it didn’t matter because Edward looked happy to see us, and I know I was happy to see him…
Thursday
Nicky told me to tell Jermaine she didn’t want to see him. It gave me great pleasure to tell him at the bus stop. Then Edward arrived. I had geared myself up to tell Ed how I feel about him, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to do it. What’s wrong with me? I’m not usually quite this shy! But he turned up on my doorstep this evening, just before I left for the school play! I don’t know what he wanted but he agreed to come with me to support Felix, who’s playing Lady Bracknell. I asked him if he’s coming to the mysterious meeting on Saturday but he said he didn’t know. Felix was amazing! She stole the show.
Saturday
We all arrived at the bus stop at 8pm as instructed; no-one knew what was going on, but a man pulled up in a minibus and told us that he’d been told to take us to a location that would be later revealed. Only then did I realise that the Tie Man hadn’t showed up. Maybe he wasn’t invited, or late or something. Well, we were dropped off at Number 28, in some street of Kingsmouth I’d never been to before. Harley cautiously knocked on the door, no-one knew what to expect, but Tie Man answered and invited us all in. You’ll never guess what! He’s Louise’s brother! And some sort of detective guy – he’s been watching us as we all visited Louise in hospital. He’d organised us a party to thank us for our support. Louise, out of hospital at last (!) gave a speech and told us that she’d deliberately stepped into the road as she was so depressed but now she’s made some friends she’s very happy and wants to enjoy the rest of her life.
After this, the party got underway and it was awesome! I’ve been to A LOT of parties before, but this one was the best… possibly because I left with a new boyfriend… ok, you guessed, Edward. He told me that he didn’t think I liked him as I gave him the fake email address the other week, but I explained why. He also told me that he’d tried to send me an email telling me how he felt about me – so sweet!
Ed kind of let it slip to Felix that I was her online friend New Moon, and she stormed out, but she later returned (couldn’t stay angry with me for long!) and she told me that she’s glad that I know all of her secrets now.
I’d never been happier – a family, a best friend and a boyfriend.
Well - that was until I got home. Chris had been at my house, drunk, demanding to know where I was and accusing me of sleeping with someone else. The Hopes were furious. What was I doing with this older guy? What was I doing having sex? Why had I kept all these things secret when they had trusted me? My social worker is going to have to get involved. Suddenly, my perfect future has disappeared…
