Tuesday
I’m getting ready for play rehearsal. The mystery invitation is on my bed; my brother must have put it there. I still don’t know who it’s from, but I’ll figure that out later. The main reason I’m writing is that I have something great to tell you. Dad helped me learn my lines! I could tell he didn’t understand them, but it was so nice to have him help me. I don’t really spend much time with him, and this made me see him

Sunday
Alejandro and I huddled up under the pier in the freezing cold. I was desperately trying to comfort him, but I was so afraid myself. It was horrible, tramps walking by, and some drunken old man was being sick right near us. I didn’t know what was going to happen. In the end I suggested we bed down for the night, but I was so scared, all we had was sleeping bags. As we began to set up for the night, to my surprise Rachel appeared! She tried to explain to us that

Monday
I had a terrible day at school, but since I got home it’s worse! Dad seems to be taking everything out on me, or at least I wish it was just me, but he has been yelling at my brother too. It’s horrible. I know it’s bad normally, but now mum is away it’s shoddier. It was unbearable, so I walked out of the house without telling anyone. As I wandered around the streets I saw a familiar building in the distance. I walked to the hospital
and went

Monday
I went to the bus stop today for the first time in daylight and saw my handiwork. It was awful. I heard the others saying how horrible the person who did it was.
I tried to get an early night, but I just couldn’t drift off. Around midnight I had a brilliant idea. I grabbed some of mum’s cleaning stuff and legged it to the bus stop. Why did I make such a mess? I’ve got good at that lately! Anyway, I scrubbed and scrubbed until my fingers went numb,

I can’t believe it, today has been utterly rubbish! At the party I scrunched my face away from Chris, a bitter slosh of beer came flying from his can into my face, and everybody started laughing. I was devastated. They didn’t even know me, and they laughed. I have never been so humiliated.
Today has been no better, I blanked Luna because it was her fault Chris came after me. I tried to speak to New Moon online about it, she said that I was being evil to

I know I shouldn’t have covered for Luna. I’m so mad - she didn’t even stay! She just ran off and left me to be carted off to the police station, accused of stealing a wallet I’d never even seen before. She must have slipped it into my bag. And I thought we were friends. I should have just let her take the blame.
You’ll never guess who I saw at the police station! I was being lectured to by some uniformed bloke at the desk who was about

I can’t believe what happened today. I questioned the fit guy in the tracksuit about what happened to Louise when she got knocked down…he told me to bog off! How rude! To my astonishment, the weird Goth girl, Rachel, actually stuck up for me. Anyway, after the earful I got, I walked away being none the wiser. What a waste of time!

When I was walking home from the bus stop, the Tie Man caught my eye coming out of the police

I’ve got a bad bruise on my leg from where dad pushed me when I got in between him and Alejandro, but at least I stopped anything worse happening. I put thick tights on to hide the bruise, and that Goth girl at the bus stop looked at my legs and gave me a sneery look. But the girl she always arrives with, the pretty blonde one, gave me a smile as if to say “don’t take any notice of her”, so I felt better after that.

Drama at Bus Stop! Girl knocked down! Fight ensues! I like headlines. Those would be the ones for today, if I worked on a newspaper. I was sitting on my school bag because I was fed up with standing. I’d found a copy of Celebrity Love Lives someone had left at the bus stop and had just got to the bit about Justin Timberlake’s hot dates when there was a horrible crunching noise and a lot of screaming started up. Some woman in a Petalz van had hit
